Add A Splash of Color Indoors

Flowers are a bright, cheerful and colorful addition to the indoors.  When you think about flower arrangements, you may have a picture of a glass vase and flowers from the florist, like roses, lilies or orchids.  Explore other ways to arrange flowers.  Summer is the perfect time to do this!  You probably have flowers blooming outside right now.

Use the flowers you have available: gladiolas, hydrangeas, hibiscus, hollyhocks, zinnias, coneflowers, etc.

Cut the stems at an angle.  It is better to use a knife so the stem doesn't collapse

Arrange flowers of various lengths and colors together to form an arrangement

Don't always use a glass vase

Flowers can be placed in any containers that will hold water

A container can be a basket, a mason jar, milk glass pieces, a bowl

Flowers don't always have to sit on the table either, place them in the bathroom, a window sill, fireplace mantle, a dresser

Flowers can bring a little sunshine, color and sweet smells in to your home!
