Farmhouse Sunday Recipe

Turkey Sausage with Pasta and Vegetables

This is a quick, easy to prepare, meal that my family enjoys!  I have switched it with different vegetables and types of pasta. 
Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 pound uncooked sausage 
  • Approximately a half cup of each: chopped onion, peppers, and diced tomatoes (mushrooms may be added)
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil and oregano (fresh if you have)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic (one garlic clove)
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pound of penne pasta or rotini

Preparation:
Heat pan on medium-high.  Add oil and sliced sausage.  Cook until brown.  Stir in onion, sauté.  Add peppers, water, tomato, basil, oregano, garlic powder, black pepper and Worcestershire.  Cover, bring to a boil.  Lower heat and let simmer for 10 minutes.
Boil water and cook pasta according to package directions. Drain. Add pasta to sausage mixture and cook uncovered for 20 minutes. 
Serves 8
