More than an Apron

An apron can be used for a variety of reasons.  Years ago, women had many uses for their aprons; the main one was to keep their dress clean because they didn’t have many clothes.  Aprons were used as a pot holder when taking something hot out of the oven.  It was used to gather vegetables and fruit from the garden or orchard.  Aprons were used to dry tears and clean dirty faces.

One of my wedding presents was an apron, made from the Amish.  I thought it was too beautiful to be worn, so I used it for decorating.

Fold the apron into a triangle and lay it on the dining room table.

It could be laid at an angle by itself.

Place it horizontal on the table, with a bread plate or a pretty bowl.

Set it on the table with fresh flowers.

Be creative in your kitchen.  Everything can be beautiful if displayed in the right place!
