Writing the Special Moments

The days are definitely busy once you have a child.  Then your family grows with the addition of another child and you wonder if life will ever be "normal" again!  Children bring so many blessings and worries at the same time.  With a newborn, you wonder when he will sleep through the night, get through this teething thing and take a first step.  Once he becomes a toddler and gives up the bottle, and begins eating table food you wonder if he's eating enough food.  With every stage, there is another set of worries.

There are special moments that as a parent, you don't want to forget.  The first steps, first words, and the adorable things they say.  I knew that there wasn't enough time to keep a diary anymore.  I  picked up a journal and if there's something my children have done during the day, I believe I want to remember later, I will take a few moments and write it down.   I also started writing down special things on the calendar, like doctor appointments and when my child did something significant. I will then keep that year's calendar.

Take a couple of minutes at the end of each day, and reflect upon what was good about today.  What should I try to incorporate tomorrow, what failed today and shouldn't I do again.  Try to put down the phone, quit texting, facebooking and write want you want to remember in the future.  Someday, maybe one of your children will read what you wrote about them!
